Audio available for B1 version

Once upon a time, in a dense forest, there lived a mighty lion who fell in love with a beautiful young girl. The girl was kind-hearted, and the two of them became great friends. The lion was so smitten that he wanted to marry her.

Overwhelmed by his love, he approached the girl's family and professed his feelings for their daughter. The family was afraid, but they saw an opportunity to protect their village. They told the lion, "If you truly love her, you must prove it by letting us remove your claws and teeth. This way, we will know you mean us no harm."

The lion was so smitten that he agreed without a second thought. The family swiftly removed his sharp teeth and claws, leaving him defenseless. But once the lion was tamed and harmless, they turned him away, fearing his wild nature.

Thus, the lion, who had once been the mightiest in the jungle, found himself weak and alone. He regretted the loss of his defenses for a love that was never reciprocated.

In a big forest, there is a lion. The lion is strong. He meets a nice girl. The lion and the girl become friends. The lion likes the girl very much. He wants to marry her.

The lion goes to the girl's family. He says, "I love your daughter." The family is scared. But they have an idea. They say, "If you love her, you must give us your claws and teeth. Then you will not hurt us."

The lion loves the girl so much. He says, "Yes, I will give you my claws and teeth."

The family takes the lion’s claws and teeth. Now, the lion is gentle. He cannot fight. The family sends the lion away.

The lion is sad. He is alone. He loses his claws and teeth for love. Now, he cannot protect himself.

Once upon a time, in a thick forest, there was a strong lion who fell in love with a kind young girl. The girl and the lion became very good friends. The lion liked her so much that he wanted to marry her.

Feeling overwhelmed by his love, the lion went to the girl’s family and shared his feelings for their daughter. The family was scared, but they saw a chance to keep their village safe. They said to the lion, "If you really love her, you must show us by letting us take away your claws and teeth. This will prove that you won’t harm us."

The lion was so in love that he agreed without thinking it over. The family quickly took out his sharp teeth and claws, making him unable to defend himself. However, once the lion was gentle and harmless, the family sent him away, still afraid of his wild nature.

And so, the lion, who had been the strongest in the jungle, ended up weak and all by himself. He felt sad about losing his defenses because of a love that was not returned.

Once upon a time in a forest so packed, even the trees were like, "Hey, can you scooch over?" there was a lion. Oh, but not just any lion. This lion was like the coolest guy at a dance party. One day, he saw a young girl who was so nice, she'd even say sorry to a flower if she stepped on it.

"Nice day, huh?" said the lion, pretending he was the host of a make-believe talk show in the woods.

"Sure is," the girl answered, smiling. "The sun's shining, birds are singing, and you haven't tried to eat me. That's a win all around!"

The lion laughed, "Eat you? Nah, I'd rather chat about how awesome the weather is, or how hard it is to find really good juice around here. But you, you're something special."

They both laughed and got along so well, they became the best of friends. But the lion felt more than just friendship; he was in love! He wanted to marry her.

So he went to meet her family and said, "Listen up, I really like your daughter. How about I promise never to eat anyone, and you promise to laugh at all my funny jokes?"

The family had a quick talk. They were nervous but came up with an idea. "Okay, Mr. Lovey-Dovey Lion, if you really want to marry her, let us take away your sharp teeth and claws. You know, to show you're safe."

The lion was so smitten, he agreed right away. "Teeth and claws? Who needs 'em when you've got love?"

Faster than you could say "Oh my," his teeth and claws were gone. "Look at me! I'm the nicest lion ever," he said, trying to high-five everyone with his soft paws.

But then, the family changed their minds. "You know what? You're nice and all, but you can't stay here. You've got to go."

So there he was, alone in the forest. No teeth, no claws, and definitely no wedding party. He thought, "Well, that didn't go as planned. What am I going to eat now? Grass?"

And that's how the coolest lion in the forest turned into the loneliest lion around. He lost his bite, but hey, at least he still looked good.

So there he was, a lion with no roar but still rocking that awesome hairdo.

A lion strong with mane so grand,
Found friendship in a human land.
He roared with love, not fright or fear,
For a sweet girl he held so dear.

He thought, "I'll wed her, this I swear!"
And told her fam'ly with a flair.
They paused, then said, "Well, here's the deal:
No teeth, no claws, then love is real."

Our lion, oh, his heart did soar,
He thought of all the love in store.
He gave his teeth and claws away,
So he and she could laugh and play.

But oh, the twist did then unfold,
Her family's hearts were not of gold.
"No claws, no teeth, you're safe," they said,
"But still a beast, so go," they pled.

Now lion's love had turned to woe,
He missed his teeth and claws to show.
He learned that love's a two-way street,
Not just a tale of hearts that meet.
