Once, an old hen led her chicks out to search for food. They scratched the ground and pecked at seeds, enjoying the day. But one little chick, while trying to stretch its wings, fluttered and fell into a well. The mother hen cried all day, worried and sad.

Later, she saw her oldest son, a strong young rooster, and said, "My dear boy, I’m happy to see how strong you’ve grown. I’ve heard you’re brave, and that’s good because roosters should be bold. But please, never go near that well. It’s a dangerous place for our family. Remember my words: stay away from it."

The young rooster thanked his mother for her advice and promised to stay away. But as days passed, he grew more and more curious. He thought to himself, "Why does Mother fear this well? Does she think I’m scared? Or maybe she’s hiding something interesting down there."

Finally, he decided to find out. He flew up to the edge of the well and looked down. To his surprise, he saw another rooster staring back at him from the water. Angry, he thought it was a challenger and fluffed his feathers to look fierce. He crowed loudly, then jumped down to fight this "enemy."

But it was only his reflection, and as he tried to fight it, he fell into the water, unable to get out. As he struggled, he remembered his mother’s warning and thought, "I should have listened to my mother."

Once upon a time, an old hen led her fluffy, chirping chicks out for a day of food-finding adventure. “Alright, my little featherballs,” she clucked, “keep your beaks busy and your tails fluffy! Seeds don’t find themselves!”

The chicks pecked and scratched the ground like tiny, feathery vacuum cleaners. But one little chick—let’s call him Flappy the Explorer—decided that seeds were boring and wings were way cooler.

“I’m gonna fly!” Flappy announced.

“Sure you are,” teased his brother. “Right after pigs do.”

But Flappy wasn’t listening. With all the grace of a bowling ball wearing feathers, he flapped his wings, soared for exactly three seconds, and—KERPLUNK!—tumbled right into a nearby well.

“FLAPPY!” squawked the mother hen, rushing to the edge of the well. She looked down, her reflection staring back. “Oh, I can’t believe it. This is a ‘deep trouble’ situation!”

Flappy’s tiny voice echoed up. “I’m okay, Mama! It’s kinda cozy down here… if you like cold, wet, and terrifying.”

The mother hen called for help, and soon Flappy was rescued by a group of animals who came together like a feathery rescue squad. But from that day on, the well became “The Forbidden Zone” in the hen family’s clucking rulebook.

A few days later, Mama Hen saw her oldest son, a strong young rooster with shiny feathers that practically screamed Main Character Energy. She called him over.

“My boy,” she said, fluffing his neck feathers, “look at you! So tall, so brave. A true rooster! But listen, you must never go near that well. It’s bad news. The kind of bad news that starts with a ‘KERP’ and ends with a ‘LUNK.’ Got it?”

The young rooster puffed out his chest. “Of course, Mother. A bold rooster like me has no time for silly wells.”

“Good lad,” she said, patting his beak. “I’m so glad you’re wise enough to listen. Some chicks have to learn the hard way.”

But as the days passed, curiosity started tickling the rooster’s brain. “What’s the big deal with this well?” he muttered to himself. “Does it grant wishes? Is it full of treasure? Is it… fun?”

One afternoon, when nobody was looking, the rooster strutted over to the forbidden well like a spy on a mission. “Alright, mystery well,” he said, leaning over the edge, “what’s your deal?”

Suddenly, he spotted another rooster staring back at him from the water below. The rooster’s feathers looked extra shiny, and his glare was fierce.

“Well, well, well,” said the rooster. “Who do you think you are, handsome stranger? This well isn’t big enough for the both of us!”

The rooster fluffed his feathers and crowed loudly. “I challenge you to a duel!” he declared. But his reflection didn’t back down.

“Oh, playing hard to get, huh?” the rooster said, narrowing his eyes. “Well, TAKE THIS!”

He leaped into the well, wings flapping dramatically like a birdy action hero. SPLASH! But instead of a battle, he found himself paddling around in circles. “Wait a minute… that wasn’t another rooster. That was just my reflection!”

As the water sloshed around him, the rooster groaned. “Oh no. I’ve been outsmarted by water! And now I’m wetter than a duck’s daydream!”

As he struggled, he remembered his mother’s words: ‘Stay away from the well.’

“I should have listened to her,” he muttered. “But nooo, I had to be Mister Big Feathers!”

Eventually, the rooster was rescued by his very unimpressed family. Mama Hen shook her head. “What did I tell you about that well?” she said.

The rooster drooped his soggy feathers. “You said it was dangerous, and I didn’t listen.”

“And what did you learn?”

The rooster sighed. “That curiosity might not kill the cat, but it definitely dunks the rooster.”

Everyone burst out laughing, even Flappy, who was now firmly grounded. And from that day forward, the well was avoided—not because of the danger, but because no one wanted to become the next soggy punchline in the family stories.

A mother hen with feathers white,
Led her chicks in morning light.
They scratched the ground, they pecked at seeds,
Happy days with simple needs.

But one small chick, with tiny wings,
Fluttered up to try new things.
It tumbled down, a tragic spell,
And landed deep inside a well.

The hen, with heart so full of care,
Cried and called her chicks to beware:
“My children dear, stay far away,
That well is danger, night and day!”

Her eldest son, so brave and strong,
Promised, "Mother, I’ll prove you wrong.
I’ll never go, I’ll heed your plea,
That well will not be a risk for me."

But as the days began to pass,
His curiosity grew too fast.
“What could it be she wants to hide?
A treasure waiting deep inside?”

He flew to perch on the well’s tall rim,
And saw a rooster staring at him.
Its feathers flared, its stance was bold,
“An enemy here!” his thoughts took hold.

He crowed and leapt with fiery pride,
To fight the bird he saw inside.
But splash! The water pulled him down,
And fear replaced his mighty crown.

As he struggled, his mind grew clear,
And Mother’s words rang loud and near:
“The well is danger, night and day—
I should have stayed so far away.”
