Once upon a time, in a small village, two frogs were best friends. They lived together in a pond near the edge of the village. They enjoyed catching flies, swimming in the water, and soaking up the sun. They had a peaceful life.

One very hot summer day, their pond began to dry up because of the sun. The frogs knew they needed a new home to live in if they wanted to survive. So, they left the pond and went to find a new home.

The two friends hopped through the countryside, searching for a good pond. After a while, they found a deep well. One of the frogs said, "This well looks like a perfect place for us to live. The water is so cool and deep; we can swim a lot."

The other frog wasn't sure about living in the well. He said, "The water looks good, but think about it. If the water ever dries up, we will be stuck at the bottom with no way out."

The first frog thought about what his friend said and realized that he was right. They decided to look for a safer place to live. They continued on their journey to find a new home.

The other frog wasn't so sure about living in the well. He said, "The water looks nice, but think about it. If the water ever dries up, we will be stuck at the bottom with no way out."

The first frog thought about what his friend said and realized that he was right. They decided to keep looking for a safer place to live. They continued on their journey to find a new home.

In a teeny-tiny village, smaller than a breadbox and cozier than a bug in a rug, two frogs were the best of friends. They were as close as two peas in a pod, or in their case, two frogs in a pond. Living near the edge of the village, they enjoyed catching flies, swimming in the water, and soaking up the sun. Life was a grand splash of fun.

But one scorching hot summer day – so hot you could fry an egg on a lily pad – their pond began to dry up. It was shrinking faster than a snowman in July. The frogs knew they needed to find a new home, or they'd end up as dry as yesterday's toast.

With a hop, skip, and a jump, they left the pond and went searching for a new splish-splashy place to live.

Hopping through the countryside, they looked for the perfect pond, one filled with cool, clear water and lots of juicy flies. After a bit of hopping and some serious fly-snacking, they found a deep well.

One of the frogs said with excitement, "This well is a swimmingly perfect place for us to live! Look at the water; it's so cool and deep. We'll be doing cannonballs in no time!"

The other frog tilted his head and replied, "The water sure looks good, but what if it dries up? We'll be stuck at the bottom with no way out. Imagine that – frogs in a well with no ladder!"

The first frog's eyes went wide, and he said, "You're right! A well with no ladder is no place for us. Let's look for a safer place to live, preferably with a diving board."

So, they continued their hoppy journey, leaving the well behind in search of a new home that would be just right for two adventurous frogs.

By the side of a town, not too far, not too near,
Lived two froggy friends, who were incredibly dear.
Together they dwelled in a pond they loved true,
Catching flies, swimming 'round, in waters so blue.

Peaceful was life, without worry or care,
But one hot summer's day brought a sun's burning glare.
The pond began shrinking, the water ran low,
"Our home!" cried the frogs, "Wherever shall we go?"

Through fields and through valleys, they leaped side by side,
Searching for a new home, with eyes open wide.
A deep well they found, its waters cool and clear,
One frog cried, "A perfect place! Let's live in here!"

But the other frog pondered and shook his green head,
"If it dries up, we're stuck, and we might end up dead!"
So they thought, and they thought, 'til they both did agree,
A well might trap them, so they continued to see.

On and on they went, still the best of all friends,
Their journey for home never seeming to end.
In your heart keep their lesson, both simple and wise,
Look well before leaping, and you'll face no surprise.
