Once upon a time, a donkey came across a lion's skin that had been left behind by a hunter. The donkey put on the skin and began to roam around the forest, feeling very proud of himself as he scared all the other animals with his new appearance.
The donkey was having a great time pretending to be a mighty lion until he brayed, revealing his true identity. All the other animals realized that it was just a donkey in a lion's skin, and they laughed and mocked him for being foolish enough to think he could deceive them.
Feeling ashamed and embarrassed, the donkey quickly took off the lion's skin and ran away, realizing that he was much better off being himself rather than trying to be something he wasn't.
Once upon a time, there was a donkey who found a lion's skin left by a hunter. Excited, the donkey put on the skin and walked around the forest. He felt very proud because he scared the other animals with his new look.
The donkey liked pretending to be a strong lion. But one day, he made a loud donkey sound. This noise showed everyone his true self. The animals realized it was just a donkey dressed as a lion. They laughed at him and said he was silly to think he could fool them.

There is a donkey. He finds a lion's skin in the woods. The donkey puts on the lion's skin. Now, he looks like a lion. He walks around and scares the other animals. He feels very happy.
The donkey acts like a lion. He feels big and strong. But one day, he makes a loud sound. It is the sound of a donkey, not a lion. The animals hear him. They know he is not a lion. They laugh at him.
The donkey feels sad. He takes off the lion's skin and runs away.

Once upon a time, in a forest buzzing with chatter, a donkey stumbled upon a lion's skin. "Oh ho, what's this? The latest fashion in forest wear?" he exclaimed, looking around to make sure no one was watching.
With a mischievous grin, he put on the skin. "ROAR! Haha, nailed it! I'm practically a lion already!" He puffed out his chest and trotted around the forest, feeling rather grand.
Animals scattered as he paraded through the forest. "Who's the king now?" he muttered, winking at a nearby squirrel. "Got a nut to crack, mate? No worries, I'm on it!" he said, his lion-like voice breaking a bit.
He was having an absolute ball pretending to be a mighty lion. Trees were bowing, birds were saluting, and even the grumpy old tortoise tipped his imaginary hat. "I've got the style, I've got the grace, who knew lion-ing was such a piece of cake?"
But oh dear, the excitement got to him, and he brayed. Loud and clear.
"What was that? A roar or a... hee-haw?" stammered a confused rabbit. All the animals turned around and realized it was just a donkey in a lion's skin.
They laughed and mocked, "A lion? More like a 'lying' donkey! Fashion's not your forte, mate!" They snickered, hopping away.
Feeling a bit red in the face or as red as a donkey can get, the donkey shrugged and said, "Well, I suppose I better stick to donkey-ing around, eh?" He quickly took off the lion's skin and trotted away, mumbling to himself, "I mean, really, who needs a mane? Overrated if you ask me."
And off he went, realizing that he was much better off being himself, the one and only fabulous donkey, rather than trying to be something he wasn't.
Underneath the sun's golden beam,
A donkey found a peculiar dream.
A lion's coat, fierce and grand,
Left on the ground by a hunter's hand.
With the skin draped, oh how he pranced!
Through the woods, he danced and danced.
Scaring animals both big and small,
The 'lion' was the mightiest of all.
But a joyful bray, he did let out,
And the secret was spread all about.
"The lion's a donkey!" they all declared,
Laughing aloud, none of them scared.
Blushing red, the donkey did flee,
Leaving the lion's coat by a tree.
