Once upon a time, there was an Olive-Tree and a Fig-Tree. The Olive-Tree was very proud because it was green all year round, while the Fig-Tree would lose its leaves every winter.
One day, the Olive-Tree said to the Fig-Tree, "Look at me, I'm always green and full of leaves. But you lose your leaves every year. How silly you look!" The Fig-Tree said nothing and continued to stand quietly.
Then, during one winter, a heavy snowstorm came. The snow started falling, covering everything in a white blanket. The Olive-Tree, full of leaves, caught a lot of snow on its branches. The weight of the snow was too much, and the branches began to snap and break. Soon, the Olive-Tree was left with broken branches, losing all its beauty, and it died.
But when the snow fell on the Fig-Tree, which had no leaves, it just went through the branches and fell onto the ground. The Fig-Tree was not hurt at all. It continued standing tall and proud, waiting for the spring to come and bring its leaves back.

One day, the Olive Tree said to the Fig Tree, "Look at me, I’m always green and covered with leaves. But you lose your leaves every year. You look quite funny!" The Fig Tree did not respond and stayed quiet.
Then, one winter, a big snowstorm came. Snow started to fall, covering everything in white. The Olive Tree, with its many leaves, caught a lot of snow on its branches. The snow was very heavy, and soon the branches began to break and snap. In the end, the Olive Tree had broken branches and lost all its beauty. It did not survive.
Meanwhile, the snow fell right through the bare branches of the Fig Tree and hit the ground. The Fig Tree was not harmed at all. It stood tall and strong, waiting for spring to come and bring its leaves back.
There are two trees. One tree is an Olive Tree. The other tree is a Fig Tree.
The Olive Tree is green all year. The Fig Tree loses its leaves in winter.
One day, the Olive Tree says to the Fig Tree, "Look at me! I am always green. But you lose your leaves. You look funny!"
The Fig Tree does not say anything. It is quiet.
In winter, a big snowstorm comes. The snow falls on the Olive Tree. The Olive Tree has many leaves. The snow is heavy. The branches of the Olive Tree break.
The snow falls on the Fig Tree, too. But the Fig Tree has no leaves. The snow falls to the ground. The Fig Tree is not hurt.
In spring, the Fig Tree gets its leaves back. It is safe and happy.

Once upon a time, in a forest that was cooler than your average woods, lived two best frenemies: an Olive-Tree and a Fig-Tree. Now, Olive-Tree was like the superstar of the forest, always wearing a shiny coat of green leaves.
"Hey Figgy, check me out! I'm green 24/7, 365! I'm like the superhero of trees!" Olive boasted, doing its best tree-dance in the wind. "But you? Every winter, you look like you just woke up and forgot to put on your leaves!"
Fig-Tree, ever the chill one, just swayed and chuckled. "You're funny, Olive. Ever think about doing stand-up?"
Then winter rolled in, and it was like the whole forest turned into a snowball fight! Big, fluffy snowflakes came falling down, as if the sky was having a pillow fight with itself.
Olive-Tree wasn't happy. "Snow? Really? That's like putting ketchup on ice cream!"
As the snow piled up on Olive's leafy branches, the tree started to wobble like a tipsy seesaw. "Uh-oh, too much snow! I'm gonna—"
SNAP! CRACKLE! POP! Olive's branches broke like a bad magic trick. "Hey, where'd my fabulous go?"
Meanwhile, Fig was just chillin'. The snow didn't stick to its bare branches but just whooshed right through, as if saying, "Excuse me, coming through!"
"Ha! Look at me, Olive! I'm like a snow-ninja!"
Olive grumbled, "Okay, okay, you win this round, Figgy."
Fig-Tree smiled, or at least did whatever a tree does that's closest to smiling. "See you in the spring, Olive. We'll both be lookin' good then. But for now, let's enjoy the snow!"
And so, Fig stood there, all cool and strong, just waiting for the weather to change, while Olive learned that sometimes it's good to chill out. Because no matter what the season, it's how you roll with it that really counts.
Olive-Tree, always green, quite the show,
Said to Fig-Tree, "Your leaves always go!
See, I'm full and I'm lush all year through,
While each winter you start all anew."
Fig-Tree listened, but didn't say a word,
Letting Olive go on, acting absurd.
Not a leaf did it lose, not a twig did it break,
As it waited for spring, for its own season's sake.
Winter came with a blanket of snow,
Olive groaned 'neath the weight, branches started to go.
Snap and crack went its limbs, till it lay there so still,
While the Fig-Tree stood tall, unharmed by the chill.
Snow through Fig's empty branches did fly,
Landing softly below, as it sighed a small sigh.
Spring returned, leaves anew, Fig stood proud in its place,
As it whispered to winds that had slowed down their pace.
"See, dear Olive, each season will pass,
Change is something that's meant really to last.
Now you're gone, and I'm here, both a lesson we've faced,
There's a time and a place, and a speed and a pace."
