Audio available for B1 version

Once upon a time, in the heart of the jungle, the Lion, the most powerful of all animals, decided to establish a kingdom. His voice roared across the wilderness, declaring that in this kingdom, all creatures great and small were to live in peace. "Let there be no more chasing, no more hunting. We shall live as friends," he bellowed.

Upon hearing the news, animals from every corner of the jungle began to gather. They were all intrigued by this new idea, a kingdom of peace, a kingdom without fear. The Hare, known for its swift feet and cautious nature, also heard the Lion's proclamation. He paused, twitching his ears, his whiskers trembling with anxiety.

Despite the Lion's grand speech and the animals' excitement, the Hare could not help but remember the times he had seen the Lion's mighty paws strike down the less fortunate. The Lion had always been a predator, and he, the Hare, had always been the prey.

"Peace is a beautiful dream," the Hare thought, "but can it really become our reality? Can the Lion change his nature?" In doubt, the Hare made a difficult decision. He did not join the animals heading towards the Lion's kingdom. Instead, he ran away, choosing safety over the promise of a peaceful kingdom. His heart filled with the painful realization that true peace was still a dream far from reach.

Once upon a time, deep in the jungle, the Lion, the strongest of all animals, decided to make his own kingdom. He roared loudly so everyone could hear, saying that in his kingdom, all animals, big and small, should live together peacefully. "Let's stop chasing and hunting each other. We should all be friends," he said.

Animals from all over the jungle came to see what was happening. They were excited about this new idea of a kingdom where no one would be afraid. The Hare, who was very fast and always careful, also heard the Lion's big announcement. He stopped and listened carefully, his ears twitching and his whiskers shaking a little with worry.

Even though the Lion spoke nicely and the other animals were happy, the Hare remembered seeing the Lion hunt other animals before. The Lion had always been a hunter, and the Hare had always been one of the hunted.

"Living in peace sounds wonderful," the Hare thought, "but is it really possible? Can the Lion stop being a hunter?" Feeling unsure, the Hare made a hard choice. He didn't go to the Lion's new kingdom. Instead, he ran away to a place he felt was safer than the promise of a peaceful kingdom.

There is a Lion. He lives in a big forest. The Lion is very strong. One day, the Lion has an idea. He wants a kingdom.

The Lion says, "All animals, big and small, must live together. Do not run after each other. Do not hunt. Be friends."

All the animals come to see. They are happy. They like the new idea.

A Hare also hears the Lion. The Hare is fast and careful. The Hare listens. His ears move. He is a little scared.

The Lion says nice things. But the Hare remembers. He knows the Lion hunts animals. The Lion eats meat. The Hare thinks, "Can the Lion really stop hunting?"

The Hare feels worried. He does not trust the Lion. So, the Hare runs away. He goes to a safe place. The Hare does not join the Lion’s kingdom.

Once upon a time, right in the heart of the jungle – where you couldn’t even find a candy store – the Lion, thinking he was the big boss, got a bright idea: “Let’s start a kingdom! And, for kicks, let's have a party!”

His voice echoed out like he was trying to announce a funfair’s opening, “Listen up! No more chase games, no more running around. From now on, we’re buddies. Besties. Cool?”

This news spread like a catchy tune. Animals of all patterns and colors began chatting about this surprising twist. “A kingdom where we just hang out together? That's fresh!”

But the Hare, the jungle's speedy guy, and a champ at getting nervous, overheard. Twitching his ears, he mused, “Is this like promising extra playtime and then, oops, bedtime?”

He vividly remembered those close calls and ‘almost gotcha’ moments with the Lion. “Sure, peace sounds fun, like endless jump rope, but can Mr. 'Big Mane' really stop thinking of me as snack time?”

After a good think, the Hare decided, “Mmm, maybe later.” And off he went, as quick as if he’d seen a carrot. The idea of peace sounded great, like a giant playground, but the Hare thought maybe he’d watch from a distance and see how things played out.

Where the jungle danced and the sunlight played,
The Lion made a bold parade.
"With strength and pride, I say to thee,
This realm's a place where all live free."

No more hunts, no chase or fight,
All creatures here shall share the light.
Let the big and the small, each and every one,
Live as friends beneath the sun."

From every shadow, every glade,
Animals came, not one afraid.
Whispers of hope, a future so grand,
Echoed around this verdant land.

The Hare, with feet swift and ears so tall,
Heard the Lion’s most promising call.
But deep in his heart, a memory stirred,
Of the Lion's roar, fierce and unheard.

He remembered the times, not long ago,
When he'd run from that predator's blow.
"Can a Lion, so fierce, truly turn kind?
Or is this peace just in our mind?"

With doubt in his heart and thoughts so deep,
Hare chose a path his own to keep.
Away he ran, from promises so sweet,
Believing true peace, was a dream he couldn't meet.

Fable Quotes

Trust is fragile, and even the mightiest words cannot mend what actions have shattered.
Caution and discernment guide the wise, for true peace requires more than words; actions must align with intent.
Wisdom is knowing when to trust, but also when to listen to the doubts that protect us.
