Understanding Reading Levels
Reading levels serve as a guide to match readers with books and stories that are right for their language ability. To simplify the selection process, we've categorized our fables into three primary levels based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): Beginner (A1), Intermediate (B1), and Advanced (C1). This approach helps in choosing stories that are just right for the reader's current stage of language learning.
Beginner (A1)
Fables at this level are crafted using simple sentences and a basic vocabulary, adhering to Ogden's list of basic English words. Meanwhile, the UK often uses Book Bands, which color-code books based on their difficulty levels.
