Researching and Selecting Fables
At FableReads, the process begins with thorough research. We collect classic fables from around the world, which are in the public domain. From Aesop’s Fables in Greece to India’s Jataka Tales, West Africa’s Anansi Stories to the teachings of Chuang Tzu in China, our collection celebrates the diversity of global storytelling.
These tales, once shared orally, have been passed down for generations and written in many forms over time. Our work is ongoing, and we aim to continually expand this library so children everywhere can enjoy stories that teach, entertain, and inspire.

Rewriting Fables for Different Age Groups

We follow established guidelines for text leveling to ensure that the adapted versions match the needs of young readers while preserving the meaning and essence of the original tales.
